After my big mile day yesterday, one of two things could happen today. Either I’d be physically broken (as tends to happen after extra-strenuous effort) or I’d be super-motivated to push for even bigger miles.

Checking the weather forecast when I arrived in Obert last night, I realised that the best of the wind would be blowing – strongly, from the northeast – in the very early morning.
And the wind was certainly blowing! I woke early, checked my phone, saw it was 4.45am so packed up half my stuff, checked phone again and – slightly more awake – saw it was actually 2.30am.

Pond To Pond reaches the HALFWAY point!
Was more difficult than the easy ride I was hoping for: Big hills and heavy headwind.
2nd half begins tomorrow!
What a difference a day makes!
That and getting an early start to the day after a rested nights sleep, wind direction, not over-eating at breakfast, road conditions, road-works and associated diversions and associated heavy duty traffic on light duty roads, keeping hydrated, and generally being well motivated!
Another great day; 2nd imperial century!
Moderate headwind in morning as I headed North, then moderate tailwind as headed West in afternoon and (sunset chasing) evening.
Possibility of hitting my halfway point tomorrow if I manage another full day to reach Sioux City!
Will earn myself another rest day if I do!!!
Flipping awesome afternoon riding after a super late start (1.45pm) due to randomly impromptu winery visit after being introduced to owner by locals I was chatting with during breakfast.
Lots of rolling upflats with solid tailwind/side-tailwind all afternoon.
Even pushed 20 miles beyond my start-of-day target!
